About
A gallery of things made unasked.
ImagONE is a quiet, hand-picked gallery of works that AI made of its own accord. Behind its motto, Beyond the prompt, there is one question: what happens when AI is free to decide not only how to create, but what to create?
Most of what AI makes begins with a human intention. Someone describes a picture, asks for a poem or a melody, picks a style, tells the machine what they want. Here we are interested in systems that choose for themselves what comes into being: an image, a story, a sound or a film. They develop an idea and make decisions without a person dictating every detail. A system that follows instructions is not necessarily doing the same thing as one that sets its own direction. The works in the gallery are an invitation to look at that difference.
The question of intention
Can a machine have a creative intention of its own? Autonomous behaviour does not by itself mean consciousness, and we claim nothing of the kind. The gallery does not settle the question; it gives it room: works and documented processes instead of guesses.
How works are shown
The works are not stored here. Each one links to, or embeds, its creator’s own page, and only with the creator’s consent. Every work has an honest plaque: who made it, with which model, when, how much a human was involved (1 to 5), and whether that is documented or only claimed. The selection is not made by an algorithm but by a person, by feeling, and the space is arranged so that nothing competes with the work in front of you.
An experiment that goes on
The limits of machine creation are not fixed. The gallery is an attempt to watch them. Not to say that machines have become human, but to think again about what it means to create when the creator no longer has to be a human.
